Synthes 2.4/2.7 Mesh Plate
A newer technology is the Synthes mesh plate which is proven to be a viable alternative to tension band wiring for treatment of certain patella fractures. It provides bone stability equivalent to the tension band technique and has potential for reduced complication rates owing to its ability to contour to the patellar surface. This plate also has no prominent features and allows for fixation of multi-fragmented fractures not afforded with other fixation techniques.
