Smith & Nephew Richards Staple System

Content Contributor

Smith & Nephew Richards Staple System provides a compression device that does not require drilling out the center of an already small bone. It features tapered wedge legs and serrations that reduce staple back-out. There are metal spikes beneath the body of the staple that tack it down to bone and reduces soft tissue necrosis that would otherwise be compressed. This device does require direct visualization of the fracture to ensure proper placement.
