StarClose SE is another competing vascular closure device which falls in the category of a clip or staple closure device. This device and category differ from other closure devices in that the entire system performs vascular closure without an intravascular component, meaning, the clip stays completely outside of the artery and yet still closes the hole in the artery (arteriotomy).
